Ten Millennium Future
Luc’s latest work Ten Millennium Future will be premiered for the first time on Saturday November 3, 2018, 7.30 pm. The work is commissioned by A World Without Armies, a peace organization based in Berkeley (USA). The underlying idea is: “Do we want to exist as humanity in 10,000 years or not? If so, how are we going to take action NOW to make that possible? ”
Ten Millennium Future is written for organ and takes more than half an hour. It is interpreted by Annelies Focquaert on the beautiful romantic Merklin-Schütze organ of the Saint-Georges Church in Antwerp. During the concert, the legendary 85-year-old calligrapher Kazuaki Tanahashi will create three works in large format.
Before and after the performance, Annelies will play two very beautiful works from the organ repertoire: Prière by César Franck (1822-1890) and Transports De Joie by Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992).
Tickets for this event can be ordered at the pre-sale price of 12 euros.
